A few shots from my 1st photoshoot for my Final Major Project. Having been inspired by original 80's arcade games and their graphics, I wanted to create fun garments and prints that transport you back to the original arcades. I’ve always loved; the quirky designs, bright colours, clashing patterns and pixelated aesthetic of the original machines and wanted to build on this in my own way within my collection. All garments, prints and accessories hand made and designed by myself.

A groovy 2nd photoshoot for my Final Major Project. Having been inspired by original 80's arcade games and their graphics, I wanted to create a fun environment reflective of 'The Golden Age of Arcade Gaming' at the time. All garments, prints and accessories hand made and designed by myself.
Whilst having a well needed sort out of the many photographs stored upon my computer, I came across a previous art project. I had hole punched hundreds of fairy lights through a large piece of black card and waved it around in front of my camera whilst experimenting with the exposure time. I remember being sceptical at first thinking had I wasted my time on photos that would just come out as some faint grey dull dots? But the results pleasantly surprised me, displaying a whirlwind of electric blue lines, swirling around in a number of directions. The patterns created really interested me and still do making me want to experiment further with different sources of light paired with varying exposure times. I also hope to do more with these photographs when I have some spare time, maybe edit them further or create a print from them to use in my own garment manufacture.
For our research trip we travelled down to London to source fabrics and collect primary research for our chosen topic, The Night Tube. Due to its opening in 2016 we were inspired by the day to night travel and wanted to transfer that across into our clothing. As we travelled around we were inspired by; the linear lines, geometric shapes, flashes or yellow and the 'Mind The Gap' slogan which we hope to incorporate into our collection. Above are some of our inspiration images which I am looking forward to developing into some designs and detail ideas.Excited to start our first live group project for ASOS. I've never focused on menswear before so am looking forward to learning the differences from womenswear in fit, pattern cutting and manufacture. ASOS are a brand that have built themselves up to become a globally know company with 30,000 options per season and over 1,150 new items added weekly! So it is very exciting to have been given the opportunity to design and make a new 28 piece menswear collection for them. Furthermore, this will be the first project working fully as a group so I am looking forward to getting to know my team members better. Hopefully resulting in us creating something unique and up and coming as well as using all our skills to the best of the groups advantage.
The final four pieces for my 'Churches' collection were selected by The Royal Society of British Artists to be exhibited in the National Students Exhibition at the Mall Galleries in London.
